Invoice for Trades

Free invoice generator for contractors and trades

Fill in the job, add your line items and download a clean PDF invoice in minutes. No signup, no watermark. Start below, or pick a template built for your trade.

How the free invoice generator works

  1. Step 1

    Pick your trade

Choose a template for your trade, or start with the generic generator. Each one comes with line items, units and payment terms that match how that work is billed.

  2. Step 2

    Fill in the job

Add your business details, your customer, the labor and materials, and any discount, tax or shipping. Totals update as you type, and you can mark which lines are taxable.

  3. Step 3

    Download or print

Save a clean PDF or print it straight from the browser, then send it to your customer by email or text. There is no account to create and no watermark.

Why there's no signup

Most invoice tools want an account before they let you send anything. This one doesn't. Your invoice is built in your browser and saved there, so there's nothing for us to store, no password to forget and no trial that ends. Create the invoice, download the PDF and get back to the job.

If you later want automatic reminders, online card payments or recurring billing, invoicing software can do that. Until then, a good invoice template is all you need to get paid.

Invoice templates by trade

A plumbing invoice and a landscaping invoice don't look alike. Each template starts with the line items, units and payment terms that fit the trade, so you edit a few numbers instead of building from scratch.

Frequently asked questions

Is this invoice generator really free?

Yes. You can create, download and print as many invoices as you like without paying anything. There are no watermarks and no limits on invoice count. The site is supported by optional links to invoicing software, which never change your price.

Do I need to sign up or create an account?

No. Open the page, fill in the invoice and download it. We don't ask for an email address or a password, and there is no trial to start or card to enter.

What should a contractor invoice include?

At minimum: your business name and contact details, the customer's name, a unique invoice number, the invoice and due dates, an itemized list of labor and materials with quantities and rates, any tax, the total due and your payment terms. Each trade template adds the line items that fit that kind of work.

Where is my invoice data stored?

Only in your own browser. What you type is saved locally so you can pick up where you left off, and it is never sent to our servers. Clearing your browser data removes it, so download a PDF of anything you want to keep.

Can I add my logo and charge tax?

Yes. Upload a PNG or JPEG logo and it appears at the top of the PDF. You can mark individual line items as taxable, set a tax rate, and add a discount or shipping charge. The totals update as you type.
